ABOUT MELANIE
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), based in Central New York. I graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor of science in Child and Family Studies and I completed my master’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University. I completed my clinical internship at the United Federation of Teachers Member Assistance Program, where I worked individually with clients struggling with a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, family and relationship issues, career and life transitions, and more.
After graduating from NYU, I was trained in Functional Family Therapy (FFT-TCM) at The New York Foundling, where I worked with high-risk children, adolescents, adults, and families. I also completed post-graduate training in The Essentials of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and CBT for Anxiety through the Beck Institute. I love to learn and I am always reading, researching, networking, and attending trainings to stay up-to-date and further my clinical practice.
